{"id":2937,"date":"2024-09-04T16:05:02","date_gmt":"2024-09-04T14:05:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eodynesystems.com\/?p=2937"},"modified":"2025-04-30T12:02:00","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T10:02:00","slug":"rgs-icu-rehabilitation-gaming-system-for-intensive-care-units","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eodynesystems.com\/de\/rgs-icu-rehabilitation-gaming-system-for-intensive-care-units\/","title":{"rendered":"RGS-ICU, Rehabilitation Gaming System for Intensive Care Units"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The RGS-ICU is a digital tool for early motor and cognitive rehabilitation of critical patients admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The goal of the RGS-ICU solution is to accelerate the recovery of critically ill patients, reduce the number of days in ICU, minimize post-discharge sequelae, improve quality of life, increase the likelihood of returning to work, and lower the high per-patient ICU costs for the hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The RGS-ICU project has consisted of four main phases:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Firstly, the necessary hardware components were selected and integrated, and the mobile module of the solution was industrially designed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Secondly, rehabilitation software was developed based on the requirements provided by the neuropsychology team from the external collaborator, the Hospital Universitari Parc Taul\u00ed. For this, a series of software development and testing iterations were conducted in the ICU simulation room at Parc Taul\u00ed Hospital.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thirdly, a technical verification of the solution was performed, and its clinical use was validated in a real ICU context with 15 critical patients. Results obtained during the evaluation by the Parc Taul\u00ed Hospital team demonstrate that the solution is clinically viable, recommended, and well-received by ICU patients.
